This month we're trying something new: a play right inside the bar area, produced by Putney Arts Theatre. Glory Dazed is a dark comedy written by Cat Jones through creative workshops with ex-servicemen prisoners at HMP Doncaster, premièred at Soho Theatre last summer to rave reviews. Brace yourself for an hour of in-your-face theatre, intense, funny and thought-provoking. The play will be on every Monday in October at 8pm, but places are limited so book your tickets now! (£12 full price / £8 concessions).
"I get wound up. I can’t think straight. But I don’t want yer to go. I want you to stay so we can talk more."
Increasingly haunted by his time at war Ray decides to go his local pub for the last time, a lock-in to sort everything out: a night to cut out all the bad in his life, persuade his estranged ex-wife Carla that they can make it better somewhere else and explain to Leanne what actually happens at war.
Glory Dazed is an award-winning, powerful and gripping drama, produced in response to discussion groups with ex-servicemen serving prison sentences.
“Stunningly intense and brilliantly paced... a visceral explosion of thought-provoking content that grabs you by the scruff of the neck and doesn't let go” - Londonist
